2.4 Safe to install
Backside Attack is an educational app designed for students who are beginning to learn about organic chemistry. It specifically focuses on the SN2 reaction, which is often one of the first reactions introduced in organic chemistry courses. The SN2 reaction provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain a comprehensive understanding of various factors that influence chemical reactions, such as leaving group ability, nucleophilicity, steric factors, and solvent effects.
The development of the Backside Attack project was led by Dr. Neil Garg, a highly esteemed Professor of organic chemistry at UCLA. Alongside him, a team of dedicated UCLA students (now alumni) named Tara Kappel, Preeya Mehta, William Parsons Stefan Prisacaru, Ernst Schmid, and Justin Soffer, tirelessly contributed their expertise and efforts to create the game's flow and content. The execution of Backside Attack is made possible by Element26, Inc., with the invaluable contributions from Dr. Daniel D. Caspi.
For an enhanced learning experience and to earn points, students are encouraged to make use of the Check Yourself +50 feature available on the scoring screen. Furthermore, completing each topic unlocks the Chem Yourself feature, offering even more opportunities for learning.
